Wellbeing in school

As part of EU Mental health week 2025, we're focusing this week on resources to support the wellbeing of pupils and teachers 

Pupils may face problems such as conflict with peers, lack of a sense of belonging or emotional distress, which can affect their school results and their desire to learn. Implementing actions across schools to foster inclusive classroom climates, build positive relationships among peers and teachers and support pupils’ self-esteem and resilience helps to create a safe and inclusive environment where pupils can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Self-assessment tool on inclusive education

The European Commission’s self-assessment tool on inclusion and wellbeing helps schools to create an inclusive and healthy environment and to foster success in all pupils. Watch the recent webinar recording to find out more.

Guidelines and factsheets 

The guidelines on wellbeing and mental health at school issued by the European Commission expert group to emphasise the importance of developing whole-system, whole-school approaches to mental health. The guidelines include recommendations for policymakers, school leaders, teachers and educators, and are complemented by a series of factsheets for schools. 

Teaching materials 

Use our materials to help get pupils involved in creating a more positive learning environment. Discover project kits focused on wellbeing in school and shorter eTwinning activities to embed wellbeing in your daily classroom practices.
